Hortobágy National Park, Hungary (Hortobágyi-Nationalpark, Ungarn) (Hortobágyi Nemzeti Park, Magyarország) 10.2017.

We visited the Hortobágy National Park in late autumn and found a diverse invertebrate life in puddles. I took photos of these using an improvised aquarium. The local Hortobágy Wild Animal Park also offered an opportunity to see some members of the once-abundant megafauna of the Great Hungarian Plain. Along with other mammals, Przewalski's horses and Heck-cattle are kept here under semi-wild conditions. The Heck-cattle are part of an ongoing program to "breed back" domestic cattle to resemble their extinct ancestral form, the auroch. Location: Hortobágy. Date: 22.10.2017.

Debrecen, Hungary (Debrecen, Ungarn) (Debrecen, Magyarország) 11.2011.

In the botanic garden of Debrecen University, on a nice November day, I made some pictures to represent the autumn mood. Also, I will show some microscope photos made of the tiniest arthropods of Hungary, also found in the garden.

Miskolc Zoo, Hungary (Wildpark von Miskolc, Ungarn) (Miskolci Vadaspark, Magyarország) 01.2010.

The last time I visited the Zoo of Miskolc was in January 2010. This zoo, situated in the Bükk Mountains, shows many native bird and mammal species (among exotic ones). Most of them have quite big and natural open ranges. I took my Sigma 70-300 lens with me and made some sample photos with it of the native animals. Here are some of them. Location: Miskolc.
