In March I visited the steep, calcareous Kőszál-Slope near Bükkszentlászló and the Bánles-Hill in the Eastern Bükk Mountains. The local blue grass or blue fescue dominated rocky grassland communities (so-called Diantho-Seslerietum and Campanulo-Festucetum pallentis), and slope steppes (Pulsatillo-Festucetum sulcatae) sustain a high diversity of plant life, among others the Bükk Blue Grass, an endemic subspecies. In October 2015 I visited the Bükk Mts. to collect some leaf litter material to photograph the tiny invertebrates that live under the fallen leaves. I managed to find a very high diversity of invertebrates in terms of species and also higher taxnomic categories. Location: Ómassa and Mályinka. Date: 24.10.2015.

We visited the eastern part of the Bükk Mountains, near Miskolc to document its fascinating plant life. The local plant associations are austrian-sessile oak forests (Quercetum petraeae-cerris), Carpathian oak hornbeam forests (Carici pilosae-Carpinetum), mahaleb cherry-downy oak bushes (Ceraso-mahaleb-Quercetum pubescentis), northern closed limestone rock meadows (Poo badensis-Caricetum humilis), and slope steppes. Location: Miskolc. In the late summer and autumn of 2014 I visited two tourist destinations in the Bükk Mountains, Lillafüred and Miskolctapolca. Along native ones, at both places I spotted many non-native species.
